lora lafayette

writer

Lora’s memoir Possums Run Amok was a Finalist for a 2023 Oregon Book Award and a Finalist for a national Foreword INDIE Book of the Year Award. Robert Fromberg reviewed it at The Los Angeles Review of Books and elsewhere said, “This important and necessary book is all you need to know about what happens when blinding energy beats repeatedly against the constraints of normalcy. Read this book.”

Lora’s poems and stories have appeared in PLAZM Magazine, The Buckman Journal, The Sunday Oregonian, Pen & Ink and other journals. She co-wrote (with Ben Moorad) a play about her life that New Room Studios produced in 2023 at New Expressive Works in Portland.

current project: delusions of grandeur

Lora will finish a volume of poems called Delusions of Grandeur, and we’ll help her find a publisher. We’ll have a reading event so audiences can encounter the work more directly, and we’ll produce videos for individual poems.
